MEET THe DOCTOR

Dr. Nancy Cheng, M.D. is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and completed her medical degree, adult psychiatry residency, as well as child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Cheng served as a chief resident in her final year of fellowship training with a focus on education. She won awards for excellence in medical student education and excellence in research from the University of Michigan and the Michigan Medicine Health System. Dr. Cheng has experience in a multitude of treatment settings including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, psychiatric consultation/liaison services, and emergency room psychiatric services. Her professional interests include anxiety disorders, Asian-American mental health, resilience, and working with transition age youth and young adults. 

Dr. Cheng is bilingual and also speaks Chinese; she is fluent in Cantonese and has working proficiency of Mandarin. Dr. Cheng aims to provide culturally informed care to all patients regardless of background.
